About ShadowX Plates
ShadowX stacks two 4D layers — a deep gloss-black character on top of a slightly larger raised drop — giving you the most three-dimensional plate finish in our range.
ShadowX is built from two precision-cut 4D layers stacked on a UK-pressed acrylic blank. The lower layer sits flush to the plate face and is fractionally larger than the top character, creating a hard-edged drop shadow that runs the full thickness of the build. The top character — a deep gloss-black 4D unit — drops cleanly on top so you get razor-edged readability with serious depth.
This is the finish we recommend for owners who want their plate to be the centrepiece of the rear of the car. The depth carries from every angle, and the contrast against a clean reflective face is dramatic in any light.

What you receive
Each ShadowX Plate ships fully assembled — both 4D layers permanently bonded to the acrylic base in our workshop. Choose pair, single front or single rear at order.

Delivery & dispatch
ShadowX is a premium style — dispatch within 3-5 working days of order. Standard Evri £3.50, next-day Evri £5.99, free UK delivery over £55.
Fitting
Self-adhesive high-bond pads come fitted as standard. Because of the layered build height, screw-fix mounting is recommended for high-vibration use cases — choose the upgrade at checkout.
Returns
Custom plates cannot be returned for change of mind. Damaged or incorrect orders are replaced or refunded under our standard policy — contact us with photos inside 14 days.
Warranty
All Road Legal and Show Plates include a 3-month warranty against manufacturing defects. Any defects must be reported within 3–5 days of delivery with clear photos. This covers manufacturing defects only — not accidental damage, misuse, incorrect fitting or normal wear.
ShadowX Plate FAQs
Can I get ShadowX road-legal?
No. The layered depth pushes beyond what BS AU 145e allows. ShadowX is supplied as a show plate only.
How thick are ShadowX Plates?
Around 7 mm at the character layer — 3 mm acrylic base + 3 mm lower shadow + 4 mm top character. Mounting clearance should be checked on lower-bumper installs.
What is the difference between Shadow and ShadowX?
Shadow uses a printed flat drop underneath a 4D character. ShadowX uses two stacked acrylic layers — the depth is physical, not visual.
Can I get a custom shadow colour?
Standard ShadowX is gloss black on gloss black. For custom colour combinations contact us and we will quote a bespoke build.
