About Ghost Plates

A clean white plate face that hides your registration in daylight and lights up when a camera flash or low-angle headlights hit it. The Ghost finish is one of the most theatrical styles we make.

Our Ghost Plate uses a reflective acrylic substrate paired with a low-contrast character layer that nearly disappears in normal daylight. The moment a camera flash, strong direct light or low-angle headlamp catches the surface, the registration jumps out at full visibility. The effect is dramatic, premium, and unmistakably RegXperts.

Built on the same precision UK-pressed acrylic blanks we use for our 4D Gel plates, with a hand-finished character layer applied in our workshop. Sold as a pair, single front or single rear — your choice in the plate builder.

What you receive

Each Ghost Plate is a fully-finished, ready-to-fit acrylic plate. Order as a matching pair, single front or single rear in the plate builder. Plates come with optional self-adhesive backing or screw-fix pads — choose at checkout.

Material: 3 mm UK-pressed acrylic · Reflectivity: Class B (RA2) · Character set: hand-finished Ghost layer · Finish: high-gloss reflective face · Sizing: standard 520 × 111 mm or any short/bike/4×4 size from the builder.

Delivery & dispatch

Premium styles such as Ghost Plates dispatch in 3-5 working days from order. Standard Evri delivery is £3.50 (2-4 days), next-day Evri is £5.99, and we cover UK postage on orders over £55.

Fitting

Use the self-adhesive high-bond pads supplied as standard or the optional screw-fix kit. Always clean the surface with the included alcohol wipe and press the plate firmly for 30 seconds. Allow 24 hours to cure before washing.

Returns

Number plates are bespoke and exempt from the standard 14-day right to return. If your order arrives faulty, damaged or wrong, contact us within 14 days with photos and we will replace or refund it. Full details on our returns policy page.

Warranty

All Road Legal and Show Plates include a 3-month warranty against manufacturing defects. Any defects must be reported within 3–5 days of delivery with clear photos. This covers manufacturing defects only — not accidental damage, misuse, incorrect fitting or normal wear.

Are Ghost Plates road-legal?

You choose. Select Road-legal on this page for a BS AU 145e-compliant Ghost build with the correct character contrast and spacing, or Show plate for the maximum daylight-to-flash reveal effect used off-road, at shows and for photography. Road-legal Ghost builds are supplied with our documentation check.

How dramatic is the flash reveal?

Very. Under normal daylight the plate face reads almost like a blank panel; under a camera flash or sharp low-angle light source the registration jumps out at full contrast. It is one of the most photographed finishes we make.

Can I order a single plate or do I need a pair?

Either. Choose pair, front only or rear only inside the plate builder before checkout.

What sizes can I order?

Standard 520 × 111 mm, short 470 / 406 / 356 mm, plus bike and 4×4 formats. All sizes are selectable inside the plate builder.
